What is the Texas Advanced Academy for Victim Assistance?
The Texas Advanced Academy for Victim Assistance offers advanced training to professionals in criminal justice and non-profit settings who are leading the provision of victim services in a managerial or administrative capacity. This academy provides an opportunity to study and interact with other victim service providers to develop and enhance leadership and management skills, in order to strengthen the provision of consistent, high-quality, professional services to crime victims, their families, and local communities.

Who Should Attend the Texas Advanced Academy for Victim Assistance ? The academy content is designed for current and aspiring program managers/supervisors and is recommended for victim service providers from both systems-based and community-based programs. Participants should have at least three years of experience as a victim service provider.

$250 for TVSA members
$275 for non-members

Continuing Education Credits Credits will be available for for Social Work, LPC & LMFT. Hotel Accommodations A block of rooms at the prevailing government rate will be available in Hutto for accepted academy students. All accepted applicants will be provided with hotel reservation information when notified of their acceptance to the academy.

A block of rooms at the prevailing government rate will be available in Hutto for accepted academy students. All accepted applicants will be provided with hotel reservation information when notified of their acceptance to the academy.
Participants are responsible for securing and providing their own travel arrangements.
Should public health considerations preclude holding the academy in person, accepted students’ registrations will automatically be applied to our virtual back up academy dates. The virtual academy will be held on Wednesday mornings, beginning March 23rd and ending on May 4th. The full TAAVA curriculum will be taught in the virtual setting. The technology needed to attend our virtual academy is listed in the application. Please check the dates to ensure your ability to attend the virtual academy in the event of cancellation of the in-person dates. Cancellation/Refund Policy A refund of 50% of the fees paid will be authorized when a written request by INSERT DATE has been submitted prior to the scheduled start of the program. Texas Victim Services Association reserves the right to retain or collect fees in full for those who fail to cancel prior to the training or for those who fail to attend. NO EXCEPTIONS!
